The multi-modal transit hub center and light rail hub worked to not only provide a community center, alive with retail, business, and transit, but it also was sited in a way to repair sprawl by cutting the mega-block into a grid more closely resembling the downtown Las Vegas form.
Access to the station was designed to be optimized for pedestrians, cyclists, and park + ride users while also incorporating the mass transit modes of bus and light rail.
Environmental considerations were also made in the design of the building incorporating cooling towers, native landscaping, and solar site orientation to minimize heat gain and optimize photovoltaic efficiency.
