This graduate level studio focused on the design of a high rise resort hotel for downtown Portland Oregon. Site studies and urban analysis of Portland were completed by small studio teams, and included graphic and data exercises for mapping the urban fabric.
Primary areas of focus for this project were the schematic development of the hotel tower and detailed development and design of building systems and floor to floor structural details.
Design process was initialized by the exploration of an architectonic object and the conceptualization of leisure and ‘getaway’ needs of hotel guests in the year 2050.
